Kerio WebSTAR

The Kerio WebSTAR 5 is a web server for the Mac OS X. Acquired in January 2006 from 4D, Kerio WebSTAR 5 (formerly known as 4D WebSTAR Server Suite) helps small and medium companies run Internet and intranet websites and integrate them with databases.

In terms of functionality Kerio WebSTAR 5 is equal to 4D WebSTAR Server Suite minus 4D Mail. 4D Mail has been end-of-lifed and replaced by Kerio MailServer.

 

Overview

Kerio WebSTAR 5 allows companies to have dynamic Web sites thanks to server-side includes, database connectivity, customizable interface for search queries, FlexMail form processing and e-mailing, and other technologies.

 

Extending WebSTAR through Plug-ins

Kerio WebSTAR 5 has an extensive plug-in interface and a large third-party community. Third-party solutions available to Kerio WebSTAR 5 include search, log, security and FTP plug-ins.

Kerio WebSTAR™ represents a simple web server for Mac OS X allowing small businesses with no technical know-how to host their static and dynamic web pages easily on the Internet as well as on the intranet. 		 

 

ATTENTION 4D WEBSTAR/ 4D MAIL USERS

 

4D Mail has been discontinued as of January 2006. There will be no future development or bug fixes.

 

Kerio will provide free phone and email technical support to existing 4D Mail customers using the latest version of the product throughout 2006. All 4D Mail customers are encouraged to migrate to Kerio MailServer.

 

 

4D WebSTAR V will continue as Kerio WebSTAR 5. Unlike 4D WebSTAR, Kerio WebSTAR 5 includes 12 months of phone and email technical support.

 

Kerio WebSTAR does not include a license for 4D Mail, but is bundled with Kerio MailServer instead.
